About the Project
The Friends We Share Project supports the social inclusion and mental well-being of refugees by creating a mentorship model that connects new asylum seekers with successfully integrated refugees. The initiative fosters belonging, motivation, and self-reliance among newcomers while encouraging peer support within refugee communities.
It also strengthens the role of adult educators and policymakers by equipping them with tools and knowledge to act as effective facilitators of integration and personal development — helping build long-term systems that promote mental health and inclusion.
Objectives
Connect asylum seekers and refugees through mentorship groups (“Connection Cafes”) to promote peer learning and cultural exchange.
Raise awareness of the effects of social and cultural exclusion on refugees.
Develop tailored tools and training for adult educators and social workers.
Train and empower professionals in refugee inclusion through the Friends We Share Training Programme and eBook.
Advocate for sustainable refugee inclusion strategies at local, national, and EU levels.
Target Groups
Adult educators, social workers, NGOs, policymakers, and refugees who participate directly in shaping project outcomes.
