Celebrating the Final Activities and Impact of the Project

In this issue of Friends We Share, we share highlights from the final phase of the “Friends We Share – Wellbeing Programme for Refugees with Role Models and Mentors” project. The last months of the initiative brought together migrants, mentors, trainers, and institutional representatives across Europe to exchange experiences and reflect on the programme’s outcomes.

Across five countries — Austria, Cyprus, Germany, Portugal, and Poland — partners organised multiplier events that gathered more than 170 participants interested in mentoring approaches, community wellbeing, and refugee inclusion. These meetings provided an opportunity to present the project results, introduce the training eBook and materials, and explore how the programme can be implemented in local communities.

Key Takeaways from the Final Events

The discussions and exchanges during these events highlighted several important insights:

  1. Strong demand for mentoring programmes within migrant communities.

  2. High appreciation for the eBook and training materials, which participants described as practical and easy to apply in group settings.

  3. Shared challenges faced by migrants across Europe, including access to reliable information, integration barriers, and the need for psychosocial support.

  4. New cooperation networks and community initiatives emerging from the project activities.

Although the project is formally concluding, its impact continues through the open availability of the training resources and the ongoing commitment of partners and communities to implement the methodology developed through Friends We Share
